Use the net cost from the subsidy calculator above, that's what you'd typically finance.

Solar loans typically run 7-11% p.a.

Tip: Start with thesolar subsidy calculator to find your net cost after the PM Surya Ghar subsidy, then bring that number here to see the EMI.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a loan for rooftop solar in India?

Yes. Many banks and NBFCs offer dedicated rooftop solar loans, and the PM Surya Ghar scheme has facilitated collateral-free loans for residential systems up to 3kW at concessional interest rates. Ask your installer or bank about current solar loan products.

Should I finance the net cost or the full system cost?

Usually the net cost after subsidy, since the PM Surya Ghar subsidy is credited to your bank account after commissioning, most people finance the amount they actually pay upfront to the installer. Confirm the disbursal structure with your lender.

Does the EMI make sense vs paying cash?

If your monthly bill savings are close to (or above) your EMI, financing lets you go solar with little to no net monthly outflow while the system pays for itself. If you have idle cash and want maximum lifetime savings, paying upfront avoids interest entirely.
